Avery Point Lighthouse - APLS
Helping to Relight History

RELIGHT - OCTOBER 15, 2006

"Six years and a Half Million Dollars Later"

A chapter of the American Lighthouse Foundation

In Memory - Ken Black
"Mr. Lighthouse"
June 29, 1923 - January 28, 2007

We were very fortunate to have Ken, our friend and mentor, help to push the button to turn on Avery Point Lighthouse.  You will see an image of Ken (representing the Past) with Lexis Foster (representing the Future) and National Parks Director Fran Mainella (representing the Present) inside the Branford House mansion at UCONN Avery Point.  There is also one of the three of them pushing the button to light the lens, after being dark for 39 years.
