Directions to Avery Point Lighthouse Avery Point Lighthouse is located at the University of Connecticut Avery Point Campus in Groton, CT. The address is: 1084 Shennecossett Rd, Groton, CT 06340 Directions are as follows: 1. Take I-95 to exit 87 (CT 349, Clarence B. Sharp Highway) in Groton. 2. Follow CT 349 for about 1 mi and take a right at the 2nd traffic light onto Benham Rd. This is still CT 349. 3. Turn left at the next traffic light on to Eastern Point Rd. This is STILL CT 349! 4. Follow Eastern Point Rd for about 1.2 mi, passing Pfizer Inc and Shennecossett Golf Course. Where the road curves sharply left, CT 349 ends, and the road changes its name to Shennecossett Rd. Here, there is an entrance to the University of Connecticut at Avery Point. 5. Upon entering the property, continue driving straight back towards the water. Follow the circular drive around past the police station and park anywhere--this is visitor parking. Walk across the field, heading east (away from the river and past the library). The lighthouse is about 500 feet from the circular drive. |
