Barry Rider from MCC checking on the job |

I'm so use to seeing this lighthouse with staging that I
will actually miss the stuff when the work is finally complete.. |

More geese were on the property today |

Repaired baluster is ready for Thursday's 1 p.m. meeting.
Joseph Gnazzo Co., Inc. is doing a fine job so far from what I see.
It is just a shame they were not contracted earlier. |

A close-up of the base of the baluster and the corner
filler, where the baluster was chipped. Nice repair.

I
cannot tell you that I climbed the staging and stuck my camera over the
top to get this (so I won't). This image and the next one shows a
step in the inner edge of the concrete slab. It is on top of this
that the flashing must start, and then step down onto the area that still
has some roofing materials. The new block will then be installed on
top of the flashing (on the top of this step where the wood frame from the
temporary roof is resting). Note the very tiny roots under the
remaining roofing materials. I was there a few days ago when the crew
lifted the rubber roofing material only to find the roots had taken over
the minute space between the rubber and the concrete slab. I was out
of film that day so could not capture it. But, if you can imaging
the top of the slab covered with a 'carpet' of roots, which was covered by
the rubber roofing materials, you have the image. |

That's Art & Margaret Minor (NELL friends) checking out the
monument. They came all the way to Groton to walk on the new brick
walkway and find their bricks. They found them all. |
I leave you with this

The beautiful new Dedication Brick Memorial
Walkway. |
